Chartered in 1950, we are the voice of the building industry in New Haven County. We are trusted builders, professional associates and industry leaders who, in association with the National Association of Home Builders, and Home Builders Association of Connecticut, promote quality and integrity within the industry. Our goal is to continue as the leading education and information resource for our members and the community.

Each member shall use best efforts in the conduct of its business activities to:
- Abide by the bylaws, rules, and procedures of the HBA New Haven County.
- Comply with all applicable registration and licensing laws.
- Comply with all applicable warranty laws and building codes.
- Conduct all transactions, agreements, and dealings with customers, employees, subcontractors, suppliers, and regulatory officials free from fraud or deception and comply with the requirements of the Connecticut Unfair Trade Practices Act.
- Comply with all other applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
- Maintain insurance as may be required by law, including but not limited to general liability and workers compensation insurance, at a level that is adequate and customary for the business in which the member is engaged.
- Where applicable, meet or exceed the latest edition of the Residential Construction Performance Guidelines for Professional Builders and Remodelers published by the National Association of Home Builders, as may from time to time be supplemented by HBA Connecticut.
- If HBA New Haven chooses to review an alleged violation of this code, agree to participate in and comply with the outcome of HBA New Haven’s decision.
- Members shall at all times share their knowledge with fellow members and the public in the best interest of those they serve.
- Members shall not perform or cause to be performed any act which would bring into disrepute any part of the industry served by this or affiliated associations.
- This code applies to all corporations, partnerships, and other business entities in which the member or a principle of the member has a majority interest.
